Charles Finn, MD

Dr. Finn is one of the nation’s leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons. His practice has been serving patients for over 25 years. Dr. Finn utilizes his aesthetic eye in many ways. He is an accomplished sculptor and commits much of his time giving back through the F.I.N.N. Foundation.

Dr. Finn holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University and was elected to the Alpha Honor Society while at medical school at Case Western Reserve University. He completed a six-year residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he received the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive

Surgery Residency Research Award for his study in wound healing. He is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He was awarded the Jack Anderson Award for Academic Excellence 1998.

Areas of Specialty

Dr. Finn specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures such as facelift, endoscopic browlift, and the reconstruction of facial defects from skin cancers. His double board certification makes him specially qualified in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty. Non-invasive procedures including fillers (Restylane, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Refyne, Restylane Lyft, Juvederm XC, Juvederm Voluma, Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Vollure, Kybella, Radiesse, Sculptra & Belotero) and neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau) also form a large part of his practice where he performs all the injections himself. Dr. Finn prides himself as a physician-only injector and has been deemed an “expert injector” by his peers. Dr. Finn has been a speaker at multiple national meetings and is often interviewed to give his expert opinion on cosmetic procedures; he also has educated countless injectors on proper skill and technique. He has published several book chapters and peer reviewed articles including a chapter in the online textbook Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery.

Teaching & Philosophy

Dr. Finn believes in giving back. Dr. Finn frequently teaches his peers at both local and national venues, in large lectures and small groups. He volunteers as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Duke University. For the last few years he has served for week long medical missions around the world including the Dominican Republic, China, and Guatemala. For over a decade he has offered pro-bono services to victims of domestic abuse through the Face-to-Face program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and now offers these services to our wounded veterans as well. Dr. Finn serves as a chairman of the Face-to-Face committee and of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Artist & Surgeon

Charles Finn is more than a plastic surgeon — he is an artist. Dr. Finn brings his aesthetic eye to the fine arts. He is an accomplished sculptor, and his original works and photographs decorate the Finn Plastic Surgery office.

In the past, he served on the board of directors of Liberty Arts Foundry in Durham, and he is a frequent patron of the fine arts in the Triangle area. Dr. Finn has been practicing his art for many years; he often focuses his sculpting artwork on and related to the human face.
